New marina in Vilamoura will have 68 berths for large boats and will be ready in 2024

The construction of the new Vilamoura Marina started this Tuesday. The project includes the installation of three pontoons with 68 berths for large vessels, between 20 and 40 meters. The work, which represents an investment of 23 million euros, is expected to be completed later this year.

"This new Marina in Vilamoura is highly differentiating for the destination and responds to the evident needs of the market in relation to large vessels, which currently pass off the coast," says Isolete Correia, administrator of Vilamoura World, quoted in a statement.

The management of the Vilamoura Marina also details that "each berth will have multiple solutions to promote comfort and sustainability, including individual pump-out systems for all vessels. This allows for the collection of wastewater, charging points for electric vessels, and systems for remote monitoring and management of water and electricity consumption."

The person responsible for the first marina to be built in Portugal almost 50 years ago also points out that this infrastructure "also arises from the constant desire to improve the service to be provided to customers, as they are the true focus of this project".
